The Philip Morris company founded a solid and successful Parliament brand in 1931. The first cigarettes with the sonorous name Parliament were equipped with a unique charcoal filter made of ordinary cotton fabric. Later it was replaced by a dense paper filter, half hollow as a mouthpiece. This innovation in cigarette manufacturing technology contributed to the cooling of tobacco smoke and this particular softness of taste.

Oriental tobacco is characterized by a strong aroma and its small leaves are collected by hand. Virginia tobacco sort dried using hot air in special rooms, so it is called pipe-dry tobacco, this process takes a week. Burley tobacco sort dried in the shade in the open air, this process is stretched for two months, resulting in the leaves lose almost all the sugar and taste begin to resemble cigar tobacco. Eastern tobacco is dried outdoors under the sun. Mixing in a certain proportion of the leaves of these tobacco composes so called American blend.

Special ingredients are added to the prepared tobacco blend. This is done for two reasons: to compensate for the loss of sugar lost during the drying of Burley tobacco sort and give each brand an individual taste.
